Saturday, 10 March 2012 (it's the last catastrophe) 8:42am I'm only halfway through Being Elmo, and I'm already getting teary. It's that kind of movie. 10:26am Working on next week's Pony recap. I'm surprised that it's taken me this long to add the word "Equestria" to Word's dictionary. 2:28pm Heading to The Dark Room to take care of some Bad Movie Night stuff, mostly so that they won't be left completely in the lurch without me there, and then I'm off to Marta's. 4:12pm After a somewhat disconcerting delay of a week, the publisher has responded. All is well, and I didn't screw up the deal before it had a chance to happen. So, whew. sometime after midnight No Frolic tonight. We did make it to Kiki for comfort sushi, but that was it. We had ourselves a little mutual breakdown this afternoon—her domestic situation has started to make me uncomfortable and unhappy, resulting me in melting down for an hour, and she picked up the slack the rest of the evening. I don't know where things are going to go from here. | ||

Thursday, 8 March 2012 (red sun shines on) 7:32pm At Marta's. Jonco just texted to ask if we'd like to join him and Heather for William Shatner's one-man show Shatner's World this Sunday. Why, yes. Yes, we would. It means I won't be at Bad Movie Night, but it's okay to miss it a few times a year, especially for a good cause like this. Now, we head to the Oakland Airport to pick up a friend of Marta's, drop them back off at Marta's place, and from there I'm going to KrOB's for more Jerry Lewis. sometime after midnight I'd thought that Cinderfella might be that odd Jerry Lewis picture without a visible misogynist streak, especially since he considered it to be a heartwarming holiday film. Nope, really not. | ||

Wednesday, 7 March 2012 (sees no tomorrow) 9:24am My recap of episodes 9 and 10 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is up. 3:16pm Working on the group assignment for Libr 204 over chat with a classmate who was born in 1987 and has never heard of Betamax. Oh, time, it just keeps on moving forward. 4:44pm Talking with someone who does a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic podcast about possibly coming on the show and being interviewed. Tuesday, 6 March 2012 (greenlit) 11:13am Had a online meeting with my Libr 202 group last night about our current assignment. We started out over chat, largely because I've been a baby about doing webcamming (don't wanna!), but eventually switched to actually talking with our voices. And we got a lot more done that way, I must admit, and it was actually kind of fun. I was also surprised to discover that one of my groupmates is a fellow Fresnan, now living in Firebaugh. She's also much younger than me, but that's to be expected. I spent the afternoon with the olds, and the evening with the youngs. Me, I'm both, and neither. | ||

Monday, 5 March 2012 (a broken piano) 10:45am I have a new, non-Pony article up for the weekly, this time about The Cross and the Switchblade. I chose not to mention the Teen Challenge recidivism rate, because what's the point? 2:13pm Went to another new-to-me class at the YMCA this afternoon. Unsurprisingly, it was largely populated by, and geared toward, seniors. But it was good, I sweated, and I'll probably go again. | ||

Sunday, 4 March 2012 (a ball-jointed doll) 3:04pm Though we both have lots of work to do—goddamn if those recaps don't take more time than to do than they might seem—it's a stupidly beautiful day outside, and Marta and I are walking around in it. She's also going to join me at Bad Movie Night tonight, which is a rare and wonderful occurrence. 5:52pm Dinner at San Jalisco. Nom. Cactus can be a good substitute for cheese, when done right. sometime after midnight Tonight was a bit of a dropoff in terms of both turnout for Hard to Kill and overall show quality from last week, but it was still fun, at least. | ||

Friday, 2 March 2012 (fluttering under my skin) 11:32am Spent the night at Marta's (where I was able to take a hot shower this morning, which I can't do at home yet), and found that I got got a 97% on the essay for 204! Not too shabby, considering all the drama surrounding me getting into the class in the first place, and the fact that I had a week and a half to write the essay. | ||

Thursday, 1 March 2012 (chamber of winds) 10:07am Didn't get 100% on the quiz for 202—I got 92.5%. Hell, I'll take that, too. 7:01pm Heading to KrOB's for more Jerry. We still have a lot to get through. 11:34pm Since she was nearby hanging out with Alicia, as she usually does on Thursday nights, I gave Marta a lift back home. All the more reason to hang out with KrOB on Thursdays rather than Fridays. | ||
